Communication & Alumni Coordinator
K-State Salina is seeking a Communications & Alumni Coordinator to be a part of the Communications and Marketing Department. This is a 12 month full time position which will report directly to the Marketing Director.
This individual will be responsible for all brochure and website content, press releases, copy editing, content generation for newsletters and magazines, script writing and social media. He/she will be responsible for identifying, creating and editing content that is appropriate for each target audience and each type of communication. They will also determine when something is newsworthy, what media channels should be used, and will establish connections with local media and alumni.
- Bachelor degree
- 3-5 years of professional experience working with media, editing and writing marketing content.
- Other requirements include: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent and demonstrated proofreading/editing skills, attention to detail/organizing skill set and ability to execute assignments; expertise using social media in a business setting to further the brand, ability to establish connections with Alumni and engage them with the campus; ability to create and edit content, including electronic and print communications for scripts, brochures, website, magazines, newsletters, postcards, invitations, press releases, etc.; contact and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media; must be able to use a broad range of communications channels to promote news/events, e.g. magazine content, press releases, brochures, website copy, talking points; expert in brand messaging throughout all communication channels; must be able to work with a diverse group of people including Alumni; must be able to work some nights and weekends for campus events.
- Experience in a Macintosh publishing environment
- Experience in InDesign and Photoshop
SALARY RANGE: $40,000 - $45,000 Depending on qualifications
