About K-State Salina

Academic Programs

K-State Salina offers bachelors degrees in the fields of engineering technology, aviation, technology management, social work, and family studies and human services -- and we plan to continue adding degree options. We also offer a Professional Master of Technology graduate degree.

Our academic programs are designed to prepare you for your career and focus on real-world application of the information you learn in the classroom. The college regularly places more than 97 percent of its graduates.

Enrollment

Approximately 1,000 undergraduate students are enrolled at the Salina campus with nearly 70 percent of the student body under the age of 24. About 85 percent of our students come from Kansas and 80 percent of the student body attends on a full-time basis.

Classes and faculty

Small class sizes mean a more personalized learning experience. For example, first-year English and speech courses are limited to 25 students. Engineering technology and aviation maintenance students begin their hands-on education the very first semester and private pilot students begin flying the second week of school.

Campus life & facilities

The Salina campus includes two suite-style residence halls, many laboratories available for student research projects, three runways adjacent to campus and a fleet of nearly 50 modern aircraft including Cessna 172s (G-1000), Beechcraft Barons, Beechcraft Bonanzas, ASK 21 gliders, Robinson R22 Beta IIs and a Robinson R44 Raven II.

Opportunities to get involved on campus include more than 30 student organizations and clubs, student government, intramurals, club sports teams, and student programming events. The Student Life Center is home to student sports clubs, community events and is the hub of student life.

Calendar

Two semesters, August to May, and three summer sessions. Check out our online calendar.
